work readinness

Two examples of how I used the work readiness skills in my internship are that I was honest about something I did wrong and told my supervisor about it and also communicate a lot by asking questions about what I was suppose to do. The first example is that I was told to label some dividers to put them in a patient's binder and it was really important that they were put in order and I did it completely wrong. I wanted to be honest about it and I went up to my supervisor and told her that I made a mistake and for my surprise, she was not mad or rude about it.  What I have learned about it is that honesty is one of the best quality in someone's life because this is what will make others trust you and your capability and also what will make you grow better.
The biggest job I have in my internship is to do filing and I am not really use to it. And when I took one of the patient's files to put them in her binder, there was one paper that I did not recognized and I did not just put it in the binder without caring if I put it in the right place or not but I went up to one of my supervisors and asked questions about it just because I did not want to make a mistake. What I have learned about this is that by making mistakes you learned and by asking question about that mistakes, you can add to your knowledge.
My work readiness weakness held me back because I am really shy and scared when it is time to ask questions about something especially if that person is more like and authority figure.

  2. After hearing your presentation today it seems you have come a long way! You seem to have really developed an interest in working in a hospice care center despite any minor mistake you may have made. It just goes to show that little slip ups don't really matter in the long run. Also I'm glad to have heard you overcame any shyness you may have had! Great work.

  3. Don't worry about doing small things wrong at Heartland, they are very nice about when you have issues! Monica and Jessica are pretty forgiving as well. I agree that you are very honest and hardworking since we've worked together numerous times. Keep up the good work!
