Goals:
My goals are pretty general, but difficult to fully figure out. My goal at the moment would be to discover more specifically what I want to do with my life. I'm hoping that by completing this internship with Heartland Hospice, I can experience a certain type of work and see how I feel in this particular atmosphere.
A long-term goal is to find myself in a job in which I enjoy and that also supports me financially. I know that this is a goal for most people, however I want to emphasize on the factor of enjoyment. I want to be in a career that I feel I am somehow giving back, instead of just working to get money. As important as money is for practical purposes, it's not the main factor for me.
Habits:
A current habit of mine that I wish to improve is being positive in all situations. Sometimes when I get stressed out, I tend to turn it into a catastrophic event. I need to focus on the positives, instead of always examining the negatives in any circumstance. I want to be able to remain hopeful and positive, although something may not be going the way I wanted it to.
A long-term habit for myself would be self-confidence. I want to obtain full self-confidence in the future because it's helpful in most situations throughout life. I have never been really confident in myself, but hope to achieve a strong self-assurance at some point whether it be through work, school, or any social activities.
Allies:
My current allies are my parents. They have my best interests in mind and want me to achieve whatever success means to me. I hope that they continue to help me grow and guide me to where I want to be.
Future allies would be co-workers I will work alongside in the future. He or she could be a boss, or simply someone at work who genuinely cares about my progress. I want to be able to rely on those people to push me to perform to the best of my abilities.
After reading your blog post, I realize maybe I should have explained my goals more. I just put them more in a list form! You write very beautifully too! We share a lot of the same habits, and the ones we want to achieve as well. Hopefully you get to achieve everything you want too! Good luck! c:
ReplyDeleteI understand the feeling of being unsure about the future and what's going to happen. Self-confidence builds over time and is gained by the longer you know people. I know that I am always nervous the first time I meet anybody but I always become more confident the more situations I find myself in with that person. Seems like you're doing fine.
ReplyDeleteI completely understand what you're saying when you talk about wanting to love the career you choose, not just choose the career or job based on the amount of money you'll make. I want to strive for this as well because everything will be so much more enjoyable if I have a passion for my work and want to do well at it.
