Goals, Habits, Allies

Goals

Now-

  • Throughout this summer and my internship, I want to work on becoming more responsible and professional while working in the office. This means I will be organized with files, not slack off, and wear appropriate clothing in order to be successful. (6/12/14-7/26/14)
  •  I want to learn how to cope with death and dying in the environment at Heartland Hospice, whether it's seeing confidential files with someone that I know or have heard of or speaking of patients and their diagnoses. (6/12/14-7/26/14)
  •  I want to NOT slack off on my AP summer work and college essays and apps. I will complete all of the assignments by their deadlines, but I will not do them all last minute. I will have a specific day of each week to work on all of these (preferably Sundays and Mondays). (6/12/14-8/16/14)
Future-
  •  I want to go to a college where I feel comfortable, learn a lot, and at at the same time have a balanced life between academics, athletics, and my social life.
  • I want to be somewhere in the medical field when I'm older, preferably being a neurologist. I do not exactly want to be a surgeon, but I want to research the brain and mind, and help people that are in need of it.
Habits

Now-
  • I will be on time whenever I go to my internship, or even 5-10 minutes early (6/12/14-7/26/14)
  • When given a deadline to do something for the Career Management Class or Heartland Hospice, I will reach that deadline -  no matter what it takes. (6/12/14-7/26/14)
Future-
  • I won't procrastinate when I am given an assignment at my job, around the house, or anywhere else
  • I will work on being professional with my clothes and language
Allies

Now-
  • Janet, a family friend, at Marin General (nursing department)
  • Wade and Janeen Smith at UCSF
Future-
  • someone on the board of a good college that I want to get into (grad or undergrad)
  • someone who is in charge of things at a hospital

  1. Alexandra,
This are obtainable goals and I'm sure that you will be able to complete them. I'm excited to work with you at Heartland Hospice, and hope that we will help each other in achieving these goals. You seem like you have put a lot of thought into what you want to learn and experience, which is helpful in determining your future success in these activities. You also talk about how you're going to accomplish these goals and I really like how you covered everything you have to do this summer such as summer assignments, internship work, college applications, and more. Awesome goals, and good luck on accomplishing them! I'll see you at Heartland!
